A long-awaited student housing project located in downtown Austin, Texas, serving the University of Texas student population, has recently opened up for business and is reported to be fully leased as of this post.
Circle West Campus, developed by Crescent Resources and now managed by Greystar Student Living, has hit its target completion date of Fall 2012 and is now ushering in University of Texas students as they begin to resume their studies in Austin, TX. The development, comprised of 167 1-, 2- and 4-bedroom apartments, has been tagged as a “resort-style” setting that includes a luxury pool, covered parking, community grill area, tanning beds, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Austin’s Kelly Grossman Architects served as lead architectural designers for the project, while Rampart Construction provided construction management services. EN Incorporated, Austin-based MEP Consulting Engineers, provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for the sizeable development located in the high-demand West Campus area of downtown Austin.
In an interview with Jan Bucholz of Austin Business Journal , Scott Makee, regional director of Crescent Resources’ Multifamily division, stated that the 167 units of Circle West Campus are renting at “top-of-the-market rents”. Makee further commented that Crescent has been able to compete in the student housing market due to their partnership with Greystar Real Estate Partners and the overall quality of Crescent’s real estate products.
The completion of the Circle West Campus construction project is just one more sign that the Student Housing sector of the construction industry is alive and well in Texas.
